Polishing our GEM! We are embarking on a campaign to raise $65,000 to update our GEM, the Barbara Bush Library at Cypress Creek. There are many areas of the library that need updating. Together with the staff, we compiled a list of needs. They include but are not limited to: Install an enclosed, weather friendly bulletin board outside near the front door. Liven up the Earl Elliott room with framed Library themed posters. Establish a historical corner highlighting the history of the library and the Friends Group. Includes glass display cases and an interactive computer monitor and also refurbish the seating area in the Lobby. Build and furnish a “Tween” section in the Children's Area. This will include a raised gated platform with a makerspace, a seating area and other items of interest to children aged 8 – 12. In the Adult and Young Adult Area the seating areas will be refurbished and the Conference Room with get new chairs.
