Polishing our GEM!
We did it! Together with the community's help we raised $65,000 to update our GEM; the Barbara Bush Library at Cypress Creek.  

Here's what we've updated so far...
  • We have decorated the  Earl Elliott Room (large meeting room) with posters, canvas art work, and greenery.
  • We purchased an electronic sign that was put in the entrance area, showcasing fliers for events and activities.
    • When the library is closed it is positioned facing out so our guests can still view.
  • We bought new seating for the first floor reading area. 
​Here's what's to come..
  • Planning has started for the Tween area and we hope to start on that project in the fall.
  • Establish a historical corner highlighting the history of the library and the Friends Group. Includes glass display cases and an interactive computer monitor.
  • Refurbish the seating area in the Lobby. 
  • In the Adult and Young Adult Area the seating areas will be refurbished.
  • Conference Room with get new chairs.    
  • The Friends bookstore will get updated too include shelving, office furniture, signage, etc.

​We have been fortunate to have a library in our community for almost 50 years! The original library that opened in 1976 was made possible by the Cypress Creek Friends of the Library’s hard work. The Barbara Bush Library opened in 2002. ​Our library is one of the busiest branches in the Harris County Library System.
