Over a million readers of all ages and ethnic groups across the United States are expected to participate in the twentieth annual African American Read-In. The Barbara Bush Library and the E.B.O.N.Y. organization will again join forces as official co-sponsors of this event locally. The goal is to make the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.

Sunday, February 7, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Barbara Bush Library and the Pearl Fincher Museum, activities are planned for adults, teens, and children. Authors Dr. Josie Carr, Takasha Francis, and Fon James will be some of the featured guests. Come, discuss, and hear excerpts from their works. Dr. Carr's titles include "iGod" and "inspire for teachers". Takasha Francis is the author of "The Diva's Diary" poetry book, and Fon James has penned a couple of teen books entitled "Back and Forth" and "Forward March".

The session for children will be hosted by library staff member Brenda Harris Williams in the Robin Bush Activity Room. Storyteller and author Kathy Culmer will be a featured presenter.
